Walking Bus - Youth Zone
WALKING BUS - YOUTH ZONE Remember after school on a WEDNESDAY & FRIDAY we have a walking bus from school to Darwen Youth Zone. The youth zone staff will be waiting on the school path where the Juniors are released from school , they will have a list of names of the children that have signed up for this service. This service is completely FREE OF CHARGE & the children are offered a free hot meal at youth zone also. I have attached a letter for anyone who would like to sign up. After the session finishes (8:00pm) you will be required to collect your child/ren from the Youth Zone (Railway Road). Thank you
Year 6: Residential
During our residential trip we were lucky enough to try the zip line! Everyone pushed themselves to overcome their fears and have a go. Year 6 should be very proud of themselves.

The children had to work as a team to get the ball from one end of the hall to the other without it touching the floor. The children used a ball and hockey stick.

Year 6 PE Teamwork
The children worked together as a team to move the ball from one end of the hall to the other without letting it touch the floor. They used a ball and a hockey stick, demonstrating teamwork, coordination, and communication. This activity encouraged turn-taking, problem-solving, and spatial awareness as they navigated the space while keeping control of the ball. The children showed great focus and cooperation, supporting each other to achieve their goal.
Year 6 - English: To Make Evidence Based Predictions
Year 6 began their new unit of work by analysing the front cover and blurb of our new text, and using the evidence they found to make predictions about the story.

In maths this week year 6 have been focusing on solving algebraic equations.

In science this week, year 6 have been learning about bacteria, and how different types of bacteria can be classified.

This week in Science, Year 6 have worked collaboratively to research the different branches of the plant kingdom, before creating their own classification keys. L.O: To classify plants.

This week Year 6 attended a webinar for children's mental health week. They learnt about knowing yourself, self esteem and how to maintain good mental health.
Year 6 and Reception Aim High Day
Year 6 and reception enjoyed learning from local businesses, lots of children had fun and left feeling inspired.
Drama Club Fun - Face Painting to Create Characters
In Drama Club we are creating our own characters for a play, so we learnt how to paint our faces to create different weird and wonderful characters! It was a lot of fun!
