Reception Class - Name Writing
Reception Class have been working hard to write their names, including forming their letters correctly.
Parliament Week - Y5
As part of Parliament week, we used Now Press Play to experience what a world where Climate Change has taken hold of the Earth. The children thoroughly enjoyed this experience! We then discussed the governments role in this and the children made pledges of things they would do to combat Climate Change if they were part of Parliament.
The Gunpowder Plot - Y2
Year 2 have been learning about Parliament today and watched a video about the Gunpowder Plot. We have created our own rockets but we haven't used any gunpowder!
Photography Day
Next Wednesday 10th November is school photograph day. This year we are using a new photography company called "Memories Made". They have done the recent photographs for our new website as well our school video's and are an excellent photographer! On the day there will be individual and sibling photographs as well as class photographs. *Please note that we will not be doing sibling photo's for children outside of school this year, just sibling's that attend St James'. Once the photographs are taken, your child will receive a unique code. You can the access your photographs from their website and order direct from there. Prices start from just £2.00 for individual photo's and there are various packages available. Perfect for Christmas gifts too! Making Shoes - Y1
Year 1 had a great afternoon making shoes that could have been worn in Jesus’ time.
Library Visit - Y4
We loved our visit to Darwen Library today! We learned all about how a library works and enjoyed looking at all the different books. We all borrowed a book to keep at school. Those who brought back their form to become members will get their library cards by the end of the week so you can go back and choose a book to enjoy at home.
