The children in Y1 worked together to retell the Nativity story, using picture prompts to help them remember each part. They took turns speaking to the class, explaining what was happening and listening carefully to one another.

We’ve been thinking about what Christmas means to Christians, and this activity gave the children time to slow down and reflect on the story behind it. There were some thoughtful comments, growing confidence and lots of pride in sharing their ideas.

Moments like this are a reminder of how powerful storytelling can be, especially when children feel safe and supported to have a go. A lovely, calm way to bring the Nativity to life in Year 1
